How are the lines at your precinct?

This is what the line looked like just after 7 am at my voting precinct in Woodley Park, Washington D.C.:

The line went all the way down the street:

It took me a good 45 minutes to vote. Tell me what it’s like at your precinct.

  1. A co-worker who lives in Silver Spring said she arrived at the polls at 6:45 and didn’t get out until 9:23.

  2. Just heard: 4 hours at a DC poll.

  3. It took me less than 10 minutes; I went at 7:30 a.m. and live in CT. It was the easiest part of my day!

I voted two weeks ago at the mall, I went at lunch time it took me 45 mins to re register and vote, we had a paper ballot and a pen to fill in the little ovals. Some judge said it would confuse us people out here in dum dum land if we had all the people who were running for prez on the ballot so only Obama, McCain, and Barr were on the ballot and a write in spot. I voted my conscious and voted for Ralph Nader and pretty much straight Democrat everyone else, there were few independents on the ballot . I chose Nader because he’s socially liberal, fiscally conservative, and is for protecting the constitution, he is beholden to no corporate structure. I hope Obama turns out to be a good president, getting things done with a congress that cares for the little guy, but I have my doubts. What will happen in four years, will we still see him as we do now? Will we turn around and vote a republican back in if Obama fails? Will this ebb and flow of the two party system that is rigged in their favor continue, I hope not, this country and we the people deserve better. Kevin
