Gina Vivinetto’s Greatest Hits

‘Out’ magazine: 100 Gayest Albums of All Time

Out magazine’s surprisingly hip list – as in it’s not all Judy and Liza albums* – of the 100 Gayest Albums of All Time is right here .

Or you can cut to the chase and click here to see the Gayest Album of All Time according to the Out staff. My opinion? Yeah, it’s a totally gay album – in that campy extraterrestrial way.

* As a huge fan of both Ms. Garland and Ms. Minnelli, I need to be clear that I am not diminishing their talents. I’m merely applauding the fact that Out‘s editors understand the diversity of queer music and for realizing Lou Reed’s Transformer is a totally faggy album.

Yeah, maybe have Team Dresch’s “Personal Best’ instead of “Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band”?
Not sure I understand how gay that album is/was.

And “Exile In Guyville” is like a study in heterosexuality. Again, I don’t’ understand its inclusion.

  4. Team Dresch’s Personal Best is at #55 on this list — way higher than Sgt. Pepper’s. The notable absence to my mind is Sinead O’Connor, but you can’t have everything. Good broad selection on the whole.

Oh yeah, you’re right! I do think they did a pretty good job overall. I was pleasantly surprised.

  6. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
